Please give me a few seconds of your eternity

The original edition of this book by Niki de Saint Phalle in 1970, was published to accompany the exhibition "The Dream machine" at the Galerie Alexandre Iolas in Milan.

The story behind
Please give me a few seconds of your eternity consists not only of drawings, but also of many calligraphic texts (in English) in the artist's own handwriting - as if She wanted to vent his feelings: Why do flowers die? Why must birds die? Why must love die? She addresses her companion, the sculptor Jean Tinguely, confiding in him her nightmares, her fears, all the while declaring her love for him.

The original drawings (mostly in colored pencil, some with collages) already show the motifs dear to the artist, which she would reinterpret throughout her career in both her graphic works and her sculptures: monster, question mark, heart, chick, snake...
